Indoor Air Quality Guidance: Assessment, Monitoring, Modelling and Mitigation – Published September 2021.
Following the emphasis on indoor air quality that arose during the COVID-19 pandemic, long overdue guidance on indoor air quality has been published. The guidance includes a risk based assessment approach, largely based upon previous work by Dr Austin Cogan, our Practice Manager.
Utilising Austin’s previous work in the field, he incorporated his prior literature review into the guidance. This involved a review of BREEAM, WELL, LEED, Building Regulations, ASHRAE, and various publicly available IAQ plans in July 2020, and checked in 2021 for this guidance. The key examples of measures to manage indoor air quality are set out in Appendix J, including measures for the design, construction, operation and monitoring.
